Leave Room to Retweet
Posted on 07:15 by Unknown
Increasing the number of Twitter followers is obviously an objective for any company that has a social media marketing strategy. Some businesses may just follow random users in hope for a follow back, while others may provide enticing content to catch their consumer's eye. If your business uses the second strategy, it is important to make sure that you leave room for your content to be retweeted. With only 140 characters allowed, this may seem difficult, but it will result in more followers for your company. If users have enough room to shout out your Twitter name with the awesome content you posted to all of their followers, you may start to see your fanbase grow. If they love what you're saying but don't have room to retweet it themselves, the content your creating is limited to your followers, and your followers only.

Watch What You Say
Posted on 07:10 by Unknown
It is never a good idea on any marketing campaign, to insinuate or insult anyone, whether it is a competitor or customer. It can sometimes be very easy to offend someone without even trying. It could be as simple as a personal point of view by the person managing the social media sites. Your customers are the most valuable commodity for your business to thrive. Consumer sediment can be easily swayed by other customers who may be bad mouthing your company. Make sure you watch what you say so you do not offend anyone by mistake, and your customers can do nothing but love your brand.

Get Noticed
Posted on 07:15 by Unknown
Everyone feels that you have to be politically correct, and depending on your business this may or may not be true. Creating controversy on the basis of engaging and creating a conversation between your consumers is sometimes a good marketing tactic. Do not be controversial over topics such as politics or religion, but instead, based around your industry. As for the online marketing industry, try asking questions such as "Is Facebook better then Twitter for marketing Product XYZ and why?" People tend to engage and converse when there is a popular conversation already taking place.

Don't Overextend Yourself
Posted on 07:10 by Unknown
The point of social media marketing is to be present on social media sites, promoting your business to your target market. The problem with this is there are 20+ social media sites, with more sprouting up every month. So which ones should you be on? Certainly not all of them. Consistency is key to a successful campaign, and being on too many may be hard to keep up with. Also, by focusing on too many social site you may come off desperate in your marketing strategy. Keep it simple. Remember, less is more...
